Getting started
- What is Transcribe a Podcast?
- A pay-as-you-go tool that gives you a pretty accurate AI transcript of any podcast episode — plus a summary, key takeaways and speaker labels. No account, no subscription. It’s powered by Podcast Rex.
- Do I need an account?
- No. You pay per episode and we email you the result. We also remember your purchases on the device you used, under My transcripts.
- What exactly do I get?
- A short summary, the key takeaways, and the full transcript with speaker labels — readable online and downloadable as .txt, .srt and .vtt (subtitle files). See a real sample →
Pricing & payment
- How much does it cost?
- A flat £1.00 per episode in your local currency — whatever the episode’s length (up to 3 hours, which is plenty for the likes of The Joe Rogan Experience). See the full list on the pricing page.
- Can I transcribe several at once?
- Yes — add up to 25 episodes (across as many different shows as you like) and pay for the whole basket in one go.
- How do I pay? Is it secure?
- By card via Stripe Checkout. We never see or store your card details. Stripe emails you a receipt.
The transcript
- How accurate is it?
- It’s very good, but it’s AI-generated and unedited — so expect the occasional error, especially with names, jargon, crosstalk or poor-quality audio. The samples on our examples page are unedited, exactly as the system produces them.
- What languages are supported?
- It’s optimised for English-language podcasts at the moment. Other languages may work but quality can vary.
- Does it identify who’s speaking?
- Yes — it labels speakers where the audio makes them distinguishable, using their names where known.
- What about very long episodes?
- Same flat price, however long the episode. Very long or low-quality audio can occasionally fail to process — if that happens, you’re refunded automatically.
Timing & delivery
- How long does it take?
- Usually around 10 minutes per episode. You don’t have to wait around — we email you the moment it’s ready. If it hasn’t worked after an hour, you get an automatic refund.
- How do I get my transcript back later?
- Use the link in the email we send, or open My transcripts on the same device.
Finding the show
- I can’t find the show in search
- Paste the show’s RSS feed or Apple Podcasts link instead and we’ll fetch it.
- A brand-new show or episode isn’t showing up
- Very new or obscure feeds can take a little while to become available. Give it a bit and try again.
Problems & refunds
- What if a transcription fails?
- You’re refunded automatically. In a basket of several, only the one that failed is refunded — the rest still complete.
- I spotted a mistake in my transcript
- Transcripts are unedited AI output, so the odd error is expected. If a transcript didn’t generate properly, email us at info@podcastrex.com and we’ll sort it out.
Privacy, legal & contact
- What do you do with my email address?
- We only use it to send you your transcript and a link to get back to it. No marketing, no sharing.
- Who’s behind this?
- It’s built and run by Podcast Rex, a podcast discovery and intelligence platform. This and Podcast Rex are operated by Podcast Discovery, a podcast marketing agency based in the UK.
- How do I get in touch?
